The tallest lighthouse on the Oregon coast, rising from a basalt headland jutting into the Pacific. Its first-order lens — the biggest optic in the country still burning its original works — runs the beat of two seconds on, two seconds off, two on, fourteen off. The old lighthouse keepers climbed 114 steps to light the wicks every evening.
