Played basketball and baseball at Edinburgh High School … at Franklin played basketball 3 years, baseball 1 year, football 3 years … Coaching career included 1920-22 Genesee, Illinois … 1922-42 Connersville where his teams won 18 Sectionals, 7 Regionals and 2 Semi-States … 1949-51 Trafalgar Principal … 1951-64 Connersville teacher … served in the U.S. Marine Corps during both WWI and WWII … employed by the Veteran’s Administration 1945-49. (Deceased September 1964)

Ray Green

Madison Cubs were sectional champs in 1947 and regional champs in 1948 … coached by Hall of Famer Ray Eddy … four-year letterman at Hanover … coached at Austin High School 1952-58 … Silver Creek High School 1958-64 and 1968-71 … Connersville High School 1964-66 … Frankfort High School 1966-67 … career record 230-170 … won four sectionals and one regional … served as principal at Milan and Warsaw and assistant principal at Huntington North … received the Sagamore of the Wabash award … inducted into the Hanover Hall of Fame … served in the National Guard for 29 years and retired as a Major.

Myron Dickerson

Coached at Royerton, Connersville and Muncie Northside High Schools ,Four-year letter winner at Perry Central …played baseball at Ball State…began a 26-year coaching career at Royerton (now Delta)… after 3 yrs as assistant, guided Royerton to 129-37 record in 7 seasons, including 3 county tourney championships and an undefeated season in 1961 …in 1966 took over Connersville program, winning 93 games and 5 sectionals in 6 yrs, culminating in 1972 state championship…in that final, the Spartans won a 79-76 double-overtime game over Jeffersonville in the second afternoon game, then came back on three hours rest and stunned favored Gary West 80-63. He returned to Muncie where he coached Northside to a 158-68 mark over ten years, including four Olympic Conference titles and a 1975 semi-state appearance. He retired from coaching in 1982 with a career record of 380-158.

Jim East

Graduate of Selma High School where he played baseball, basketball and track. Forty-six year coaching career, Chester Center, Center, Connersville, Lawrenceburg and Merrillville 28 years. Won 16 sectionals, 6 regionals, 1 semi-state and state runner-up in 1995 to Ben Davis. Leads the Duneland Athletic Conference with 12 titles. Holds the consecutive DAC win record with 25 games. Ball State Alumnus Coach of the Year and IBA District Coach of the Year 1995. Indiana All-Star Coach. Achieved 500 wins in 2000-01. Merrillville Coaches Hall of Fame, Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame. Coached and gave clinics in four continents – Africa, Australia, Asia and Europe.

Basil Mawbey

Three-year letterman at Deedsville High School….coaching career began at West Washington in 1971….went on to coach Delta, Angola, Connersville, ( state champions 1983) and Kokomo ( state runner-up 1989 )…. at time of induction is currently coaching at Lewis Cass High School and team is ranked number one in Class 2A….Coach of 1986 Indiana All-Star Team….noted for Basilball, as his teams are renowned for their defensive pressure….over 550 career victories…. Director and Founder of Longest Running Coaches Clinic in Indiana – 23 years….guest speaker at over 150 camps and clinics, with eight in Australia.

Phil Cox

Connersville 1972 State Championship Team, Mr. Basketball 1972, three-sport athlete at Connersville High School, 1st team All South Central Conference 1971, 72 in football, basketball and track, coached by Hall of Famer Myron Dickerson…played for Hall of Fame coach George Theofanis at Butler University, played at Gardner Webb University 1976-77 record 29-3, 1977-78 record 30-3, ranked second in NAIA National Polls, winner of the NAIA International Invitational Tournament at Kansas City vs. Spain, China, Czech Republic and Portugal…1997 Silver Anniversary team…currently a Gospel Minister, Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church…19 year Varsity Assistant Coach and Attendance Officer at Kokomo High School.

Larry Bullington

Scored 1,652 points during his high school career at Marshall High School, Indianapolis. An Indiana All-Star in 1970. Team MVP at Ball State University two years, scored 1,747 career points. Coached high school basketball 25 years, record 443-156, never having a losing season. Coached at Indianapolis Manual, Plainfield, Connersville, Madison, Hamilton Southeastern and Pike. Won the 4A State Title in 2003, team was 29-0, ranked #2 in the nation. Won 16 sectionals, 6 regionals, 2 semi-states and 1 state crown. Marion County Coach of the Year 3 times. Selected to Ball State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984.
