The shortest lighthouse in Oregon — a stout octagonal iron tower just 38 feet tall, built on the highest headland on the coast, 223 feet above the sea. Its giant first-order lens, the prize of the station, was rescued from the cliff when the light shut down — you can still see the artificial eye, Origin Point, looking out at the ocean today. The story goes that its signature was a steady white beam punctuated by a red flash once a minute.
